For all the shit we give London Mayor Boris Johnson, it’s only when we hear about the antics of Quebec Mayor that we’re glad we’ve got BoJo.
Canada hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to Mayors. In the past year, their Mayors have been accused of corruption, gangsterism, sex scandals and crack smoking.
But Stephane Gendron, the Mayor of Huntingdon, Quebec has been on the radio laughing it up about killing cats and kittens.
Gendron who also moonlights as a shock jock said on his show:
“When I see a cat in the street, I accelerate,” “Stray cats have no business on the street,” he said, raising his voice to a shout for dramatic emphasis: “So bang! I accelerate.”
“The other day I backed up over a newborn and I’m sure it didn’t feel a thing,” Gendron said.
“The pickup passed over him like it was nothing.”
Can you image Boris spouting such crap on his LBC slot?
But what do you expect a Mayor to do after making such comments? Well, we would think apologise but Mayor Gendron released a statement commenting on how his town is over run by stray cats, raising doubt about whether he was actually joking on his show.
Suddenly Boris’ buffoon comments don’t seem so bad at all.
