Do you remember what face you were pulling when you set up your online banking? If you’re anything like us it would be a mixture of frustrated, irritated and downright pissed off.
But soon, you’re going to HAVE to remember what face you were pulling when it comes to technology because google facial password patent is set to be rolled out.
Users will be asked to pull a series of faces to unlock their andriod phones or tables. Google suggest that uses stick out their tongue or wrinkle their nose – that’s going to be interesting for people wanting to unlock their phones in public.
What is it with technology that makes people look fucking stupid? Remember when bluetooth headsets were all the rage and you’d see people with them permanently attached to their ears? Now we’re supposed to be making faces at our phones?!
The patent which was filed in June 2012 suggests that the software could track a ‘facial landmark’ to confirm that a user not only looks like the owner of the device but also carried out the right action – ie an eyebrow movement, a frown or a protruding tongue.
