If you’ve bunged your mates a tenner over the last few weeks and you’re yet to get it back then Natwest can help. They want you to publically shame your mates by sending them a video requesting your cash back.
This new campaign by Natwest is the brainchild of M&C Saatchi and includes a YouTube homepage takeover and a microsite to promote the Pay Your Contacts feature on the mobile banking app.
The microsite will be available for the next three months and users can create personalised videos where the Royal Mounted Friendship police remind your in debt mate that they are in violation of the friendship code.
Users can choose from a selection of seven eccentric characters to send the message, which will be personalised with their name and the outstanding amount.
Bit harsh really isn’t it?
If you’re going to get all petty over a tenner then we suggest that you may want to re-evaluate your friendship. Plus we would like to take a moment to remind the bank about the recent technical glitches and we predict that NatWest themselves are going to be receiving a lot of videos from this service.
